Anyone notice that Randy Moss is slowly but surely nipping away at Jerry Rice's record?
For the first time all season the media has actually taken notice of that, going so far as to ask him directly about it. He is being humble about it(really!) but it's clear to him that he could have his own mark on the record books in the next couple of game...

I've been watching Moss's numbers climb as he is closing in on Jerry Rice's single-season TD receptions record at 22. Moss is at 19 and needs just 4 TDs to go. Rice set that record in 1987 in only 12 games.
It would be interesting if Brady's 50th TD pass would be Moss's 23rd TD catch. Who'd get the ball? :D

I think that would just motivate them to throw & catch # 51 and 24...
Then they could cut each ball in half and sew them together making 1 balls with each being made up of 50% of each record breaking ball...

I'd love for them to do that and the way they have been presenting themselves all year I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they did that! Teamwork at it's finest!

This is getting real scary--Brady, Moss, possible 16-0. IMHO Moss will get the record, but he couldn't have done it with any other QB--excpet maybe Montana or the late great Johhny U.
Of course Brady without Moss would probably not be a record either.

Two more TDs today, just two more to break the record.

Yeah, Moss will probably get the record next week against the G-men. I still can't get over how much of a steal he is.

It's only fitting, Brady ---->Moss for both records! Way to go! :highfive:

Not to mention, to take the lead on what could be the 16th win of the season...
Outstanding.

Taking the lead on both scores no less!
Folks were trying to minimize Moss's record this past week by stating that Rice set the record in a strike shortened year, but considering that it took two decades for anyone to break it with the amount of great receivers in the league it's saying something about the record- Moss took longer but he did break it!

A bit off topic... But Welker is just PURE electric!

Moss owes him big time, he probably wouldn't have his TD record if not for the number of catches that Welker got this year to set him up...Funny that it's pick your poison with the Patriots' receivers- Moss, Welker, Gafney, Stalworth, Watson, Brady, Faulk, or Evens can all make you pay dearly.
