I am mildly surprised none of the new OL made it this far, although there is a complete glut at that position on the ballot. I still expect Carter and Green to make it all the way.

If anyone on that list deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, it's Cortez Kennedy. That's for sure.

I'm a little surprised that Kennedy made it as a semifinalist, because he's still relatively fresh on the ballot. I'm also very pleased. Before his career came to an abrupt end, he was a top-5 player on that side of the ball.

Art Monk is football's Ron Santo.

Monk won't get in before Cris Carter, as well he shouldn't. Stallworth and Swann, however . . .

In 1992, when the Seahawks offense was terrible and the team went 2-14 on the season, Kennedy was lights out. The Seahawks had the best defense in the league and Kennedy was the NFL defensive player of the year!

And that was without two players who had made such an impact throughout the 80's for Seattle, preliminary nominees Jacob Green, as ferocious a pass rusher I've ever seen and certainly as good as semi-finalist Kevin "McLean Deluxe Ric Flair wannabe" Greene, and Kenny Easley, who was as good as Ronnie Lott during his short career but hit harder.

Nobody deserves it more than Ray Guy. The best punter to ever play the game is kept out by some type of macho thing the players have against kickers. Funny thing though, anyone who knows Guy knows that he was one of the toughest guys on the Raiders, and that's saying something!. He just needs someone to champion him.
And Charles Haley needs to be elected. A major part of 5(!) SB champs says a lot.
