I just thought everybody should know about these sites:
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/
http://cfbdatawarehouse.com/
Great history sites for pro and college football.

Pro football reference leaves a lot to be desired--no QB rating points for one thing. I avoid it because there are better sites for the stats--ESPN, CNNSI, Fox, and NFL. com all give more info.

If you were making a dream football website would would it have? Is the NFL website it? Just curious as we do own Football Almanac as well and it would be neat to know what fans would like before we took on such an ambitious project...

A dream football site would have the same sets of stats, mutatis mutandis, as baseball reference--fulll year by year career info, including rating points for the QBs, black and gray ink and the yearly, active and career leaderboards. Also, a list section--4,000 yard passers, 80 yds/ game rushing or whatever number to show the relative merits of 1,000 yds depending on length of schedule, etc. And of course yearly league and team info and postseason results.
Anything less would disappoint me because baseball refertence sets such a high standard for all of that in baseball terms.

I would agree. I would like to see more players listed as Football-Reference lacks alot of positions and its stats do not go back very far (starts around the 1950's). Baseball-Reference has sort of set the benchmark for all sport stat sites. Although in football it does seem like their stats are not as readily avaliable as baseball (IMO baseball relys so much heavier on statistics and sabermetrics than football).

Well I just found a very good football stats site. It is better than pro-football-reference. It has much more info and stats in it and actually has players from the 1920's and beyond. Check it out.
databasefootball (http://www.databasefootball.com/)
Here (http://www.jt-sw.com/football/) is another football stat site which is also pretty good

Database is truly great and it also does other sports. Wonderful find, thank you.
