CB Gary Baxter, who tore both patellar tendons on the same play last season, was given long odds of getting back on the field. Baxter was not activated for any of the Browns' first six games and when he failed to make enough significant progress to help them this season, the team finally decided to place him on IR.
He tore up his knees on a freak play against the Broncos last year, and had hopes of returning this season. He hasn't been in any of the six games yet, and after evaluation was told on Tuesday that he would not be back this season. He hopes to return for 2008.
He, and the Browns, must be optimists. No one has ever come back from this injury. I'm sure we all wish him well, and a full recovery. :crossfingers:
