Way back when,i think i was about 10,or 11, i went to NYC,and got my very first issue of Sports Illustrated,im guessing, this was around 1964-1965.If not the "cover" ,i recall at color-spread article, about the "Hi-Flying Cards".I would rather not look it up,but does anyone remember the Cards from that era? They had 2 effiecent WR,....Bobby Jo.....?and Sonny.....,and maybe Jackie......at TE,The QB was Charlie.......,Might have had a good RB in Johnny ..........A HOF safety,#8,Blitzed like a mad-man???.....Was there such a thing called the "Playoff-Bowl"?....Were We In This??:nosleep:

HOF'er Jackie Smith was the TE.

Larry Wilson, the HOF safety, is the Cardinals. Long term exec for the team after his career ended.

That's all that jumps at me at this time.

I am not sure how long the "playoff bowl" lasted, but I do know that the first year was from the 1960 season.

Detroit defeated Cleveland 17-16 in the first Playoff Bowl, or Bert Bell Benefit Bowl in Miami, January 7, 1961.

This "Bowl" was played by the winners of a playoff system between second-place teams in each conference

I will look into it and find out how long it lasted and see if the Cardinals played in any of them.
