Am I the only one who thinks that his impact on the team is bigger than it's made out to be? He has 150 yards so far splitting time with Maroney while also having more TDs(2 to 0) and nearly as high of a yards per carry average(4.7 to 4.6)...
While he was signed to be a backup and potential threat he seems to have been performing well above that and is a borderline starter in his own right.
Thoughts?

I'm with you. He's been better than I, or I think anybody expected so far. What remains to be seen is if he can keep it up.

My dad picked him up in is (customized) FFL league, he has been riddled with injuries to rb and wr. I think Morris is his 5th rb.
He has been great :D

He had a great game last night with 117 yards rushing and a TD. He has a 5.0 YPC average. Best British player in the NFL? I think so.

He's not British, he's a Texan(San Antonio born and raised)
He's on pace to shatter his career high of 526 yards, he's halfway there with 268 yards so far...

Actually, he was born in Oxford, England. Raised in San Antonio, sure, but British born.

Even if he was from there he is a military baby so he isn't British(not legally nor by consideration), he's as American as you or I.

That's kind of odd that only his NFL page would list him as being born in England. Still the best possibly English-born player in the NFL.
Oh, and as a side note, I'm not really fully American.

Praise won't get any large any more...he's out for the year due to his injury, placed on the IR list

Tough loss. He was a great addition to the backfield and was having a breakout year. He was a RB who could pick up those tough yards and when that New England weather of snow and slush comes in later in the playoffs, especially if we get homefield advantage, I think Morris would have been a huge plus in those games, but we'll never know.
Maroney needs to stay healthy and be that durable back. Faulk can continue to fill in here and there.
Even though this team is clearly putting up big numbers in the passing game the offense is still balanced. Out of 540 offensive plays, the play calling has been pretty much even: 52% pass/48% run. The offense has 3516 yds of total offense: 2430 passing yds (70%) and 1086 rushing yds (30%).
Maybe the pass play calling starts to go up. We'll see.
This injury does open up a spot on the roster. Rumor mill is that Corey Dillion might be back. Hmm. Any thoughts on who to secure that roster spot?

Good question...I doubt he would be coming back here but if he has no hard feelings and can contribute he is worth a shot...
I think they may use the spot on Troy Brown when he is removed from the PUP list if it hasn't been used already since 1. he could take the load off of Faulk and Welker at returning kicks, 2. contribute in the secondary heaven forbid something happen there again, and 3. he would be a positive veteran presence to keep the big egos in check down the line just in case(something Dillon would not do...)

The Boston Herald is reporting that Dillion's agent Steven Feldman has made some comments regarding the Patriots bringing back Dillion. Raising old Corey (http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/football/patriots/view.bg?articleid=1042507)
Here's what Feldman had to say...
“He would absolutely, positively be interested in coming back to play for the Patriots,” Feldman said of the 32-year-old running back, who was an integral part of the club’s last Super Bowl win.
“When Sammy Morris got injured, he kind of got an inkling. He got the idea something may happen down the road. So he started working out a couple weeks ago to get in shape so that if an opportunity presented itself, he’d be ready to take advantage of it.”
“Corey has had opportunities to join a number of teams, but he always told me the only team that he’d ever come back for would be for the Patriots,” Feldman said.
When asked if there had been any communication with the Patriots since Morris went down to injury in the Dallas game, Feldman clammed up. “I’d rather not comment on that,” Feldman answered.
“We’re just going to take a wait-and-see attitude,” Feldman said. “He’s going to continue to work out, continue to get in great shape, and if the call comes, he’ll be ready.”
Feldman indicated Dillon remained in contact with many of his teammates, be it by phone or text message. “He’s thrilled with their success,” Feldman said. “After each game, his teammates will call him and check in. They send each other their best wishes. He’s in constant communication.”
The Patriots filled that roster spot for now by promoting DB Ray Ventrone from the practice squad.

It's taken on a life of it's own now, it seems all but certain that Dillon will come back with the team...
