After losing their first two games, the Eagles appear to be suffering from the following:

1. Poor Quarterbacking: McNabb cannot run or pass, and Reid gave him lousy receivers to work with this year;

2. Poor coaching: Special teams appears clueless and talentless; Reid seems to be calling the plays again at crunch time--something he has never been able to do;

3. Poor decision making in the off season: getting rid of Stallworth was a monumental error; getting rid of Trotter was also brainless.

I think this has been coming on for a while now. NFL teams have a "window of opportunity" and the Eagles' has passed.

Pro Bowl Players by Year:
1999 (1)
2000 (5)
2001 (6)
2002 (7)
2003 (3)
2004 (9)
2005 (2)
2006 (3)

There's been a steady decline since Feb. 2005 -- poor drafting, questionable free agency moves, clinging to a pass-first offensive scheme when the team clearly doesn't have the personnel to successfully do so, etc., etc.

The only question in my mind is will Andy Reid survive the team's imminent implosion and necessary rebuilding or are Eagles fans going to be subject five years of a Rich Kotite or Ray Rhodes -- because Head Coaches like Andy Reid don't come around every day.

For everyone calling for Reid's head, watch what you ask for -- you just might get it. And then next year maybe Jim Mora Jr., Mike Mularkey or Don Haslett can be your head coach and you can longing for the good-ole-days.
