Just picked this game up today. When I explore it more thoroughly, I'll give you a full review.

All Madden games after 2005 have had hideous attribute and offense inflation. Highlight was the worst thing ever, and just adding more offensive bonuses just make it boring. I like imagining I am playing real fball.

I agree to an extent. If you put it on Rookie or Pro difficulty, you should be able to score a ton of points, and run only pass plays if you so choose. You'll almost never have any nailbiters. However, I normally play on All-Pro, which is a sufficient challenge without being impossibly hard.

Prior to picking this one up, I played Madden 05 extensively and I found that no matter the skill of your QB or wideouts, you will almost always get a completion on a curl pattern to a WR. I played as the Redskins, and I won the Super Bowl in my second year, even with Mark Brunell out from Week 5 on, simply by throwing darts to Rod Gardner and Laveranues Coles on curl patterns, with a few corner routes from Chris Cooley and some toss plays and counters with Clinton Portis mixed in. I won my playoff games 59-9 (after which I raised the difficulty to All-Pro), 31-3, 35-27, and 41-21.

I have 07, and highlight stick makes me want to puke, it makes the defenders look plain silly. I still play all-madden 05, and its challenging, not outrageous point scoring, and I am in 2009, with a 2nd year 93 Running Back who has great Speed/Acceleration and good agility.

Jamal Lewis is also just a beast in 05 he has like 85 strength.
