I don't know enough about college players, particularly those in the later rounds, so I'm hoping someone else that is familiar with these players can weigh in.

Here are their picks, by round

1 20(20) Aaron Ross CB TEXAS
2 19(51) Steve Smith WR USC
3 18(81) Jay Alford DT PENN STATE
4 17(116) Zak Deossie OLB BROWN
5 16(153) Kevin Boss TE WESTERN OREGON
6 15(189) Adam Koets OT OREGON STATE
7 14(224) Michael Johnson S ARIZONA
7 40(250) Ahmad Bradshaw RB MARSHALL

Position wise, I'm happy they drafted two O-linemen, as I think that was a pressing need. Although I'm not sure if a 4th and 6th round pick will be enough.

I'm surprised they picked a running back, but the 250th pick in the draft is usually a taxi squad type player, so I doubt there was much value that they passed up on.

I'm also surprised they drafted another TE, as they have a few young TEs on the team.

Overall I think they addressed many of their needs. We'll see how it works out

I was pulling for a linebacker on the first day, but that was before Reese announced that Kiwanuka will be moving to linebacker. I think that's a good move and that Kiwanuka should do well there. Hopefully Strahan, Umenyiora, and Tuck can stay healthy this year because there's not much depth after that.

I like picking Ross as the Giants are in desperate need of secondary help, but the team has had a bad track record recently in drafting cornerbacks early. The Wills never really panned out as hoped and Webster looks like a mess so far.

I like the pick for Smith. He seems to be very reliable, and good teams always seem to have reliable guys like that. I have to admit though, I was hoping the team would pick Brian Leonard, even though I couldn't really see how he'd fit.

Alford was a bit of a headscratcher. Reese has been in charge of the draft the last several years and the Giants have frequently seemed to reach on players, particularly defensive line guys like Kiwanuka and even Cofield last year, and Umenyiora a few years ago. So perhaps Reese knows what he's doing when he's reaching for some of these defensive line guys (was Reese in charge when they drafted Joseph?).

I love the pick fo DeOssie. He's a big guy, quick and strong. Yeah his competition was weaker in College, but he seems like the kind of guy the Patriots always seem to uncover and then get to excel in their system. Here's hoping the Giants can do the same.

Boss sounds like a good pick. Another thing the Giants have often done with Reese at the helm of the draft is take these small school and lower division guys and hope they can develop them. Umenyiora is probably the shining example of this, but there have been plenty of players that haven't panned out. But Boss sounds like a very reliable target, hopefully he can become a good blocker as well. With Shockey, Boss, and then four quality receivers in Burress, Toomer, Moss, and Smith, the Giants are starting to remind me of the Colts and Manning should be able to spread things out nicely. Hopefully everyone stays healthy.

I don't know about Koets. I haven't heard many good things on him, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. I've been reading that Guy Whimper has been impressive in the offseason so perhaps the need to develop Koets will be moot (though of course, last offseason everyone was raving about Jonas Seawright's development and he didn't show much during the season).

I'm actually giving Johnson a good chance to make the team. I've read mixed things about him, but he seems to have good size and speed.

I guess Bradshaw will be thrown into the lot of players vying to make the team as the third runningback, along with Derrick Ward, James Sims, and Ryan Grant. So who knows. I do think the that Giants could really use a good change of pace back though given that Jacobs and Droughns are pretty much both the bruiser types.

I didn't think they had a bad draft. Just that it could've been a bit better. I also thought they were gonna go with a LB in the 1st rd but then I found out that Kiwanuke was gonna be a LB. Not a bad move but it leaves us with lack of depth in the defensive line-which was something that needed to be addressed.

Ross was a good pick as the other pressing need was the secondary. The second pick I have a problem with. IMO, the Giants should have went with an OL or defensive linemen. Ryan Kalil should've been the pick there. I'm not saying Steve Smith was a bad pick but rebuilding the offensive line was a much more pressing need than another wideout.

Isn't Kalil a center though? The team just made a big committment to Shaun O'Hara.
