Is it just me or are we kind of stuck in a trench here with the several people that post regularly? I enjoy posting here and will certainly continue to do so, but any ideas for how to attract other members? Sometimes it seems like a 3 or 4 person conversation.

We could get members from Baseball-Fever to come here by advertising the site in signatures. I'll add it onto my signature tonight.

I added it to my BBF signature. Also, it seems (to me at least) that most of us who do post keep it to the Team Vote-Off thread.

I changed my signature on BBF, too. Obviously on BBF, I'm baseball junkie as can be seen by my same avatar, location, writing style, exteremly similar name.
As suggested earlier in the thread, maybe if we all just added a line in our BBF sigs that would help direct people here. That's how I got here. And I was looking for something exactly like this.

I have the Pigskin-Fever hyperlink as the whole "pigskin-fever.com", how can I change to just "Pigskin-Fever" as the hyperlink?

All you have to do is have the site adress like so.. then in between you write what ever you want to show as the link but make sure it is closed up with one of these[/URL.]

I'm not getting it to work, I put the [url="http://www.pigskin-fever.com"] and tried to put Pigskin-Fever in between and I closed it with this [/URL.], but it still didn't work. I'm sorry, but could you copy it for me verbatim?

Just put the "L" in the second URL bracket and it should be good to go.

Worked on me. Probably some BBFers that aren't thrilled about that.
Patience is key. A lot of people will find out about PSF by finding individual threads on search engines. More threads mean more visitors.
If it will help, I might be willing to walk through Cincy buck naked carrying a sign that says 'pigskin-fever.com'. But I'm pretty sure it won't help.

Technically, you're not supposed to advertise, but I guess there's an exception for members of the baseball-almanac family.

I think that most people who are coming in right now are coming from BBF. People will start to search for football and come here from search engines. Until then, tell your friends. And tell them to tell their friends. The more (quality!) threads we get, the more people will start to come in from the non-Baseball-Almanac world.

Despite persistent rumors, some of them even posted on this very thread, I'm definitely not that "baseball junkie" person from BBF -- whatever that is. Any similarity is entirely coincidental.
As for getting new members I stick by my earlier statment that we should all change our BBF sigs. Either that or flood other message boards with SPAM. Yes I mean that literally, the kind that comes in the can -- mmm....repulsive!

Also came over from BBF (same user name) ... tend to be more of a reader than a poster on BBF and here so far ... kinda returning to watching football again after a few seasons off. Enjoying the site so far ...
PS -- Also a Bengals (and Reds) fan ... though I've never been to Cincinnati (or Ohio even....):confused:
