The Browns took Brady Quinn!
Now they are loaded at QB: Charlie Frye, Derrick Anderson, and now Quinn too. It's like QB Central up there on the shore of Lake Erie!
Quinn's #1 quality right now is that he's great with the media, and will be the face of the franchise. This is something Cleveland has really lacked, is someone to show their identity. I think that's why he doesn't start the first game (vs. Pittsburgh): we are liable to have out lunch money taken from us, and if it happens two or three times the natives will get restless and clamor to pull the QB.
The sacrificial quarterback looks like Charlie Frye now, and if he wins, great; if not, Quinn will be put in for a lower pressure game that he has a better chance of winning, and look like he's here to save the season. He did great in the preseason, but not mainly against first-stringers. So don't drink the Kool-Aid yet; he will be good, but only when he is given a real shot to succeed.
Remember, our O-Line, which was much improved, is now mostly injured.

They've got a solid backup, another backup, and a rookie. Not exactly QB Central. QB Central was Atlanta, prior to the Schaub trade and the whole Vick thing.
Hut5, you're right about Quinn. It's looking to me like Cleveland will follow Denver's example with Jay Cutler, hopefully minus the messy trade/retirement business.

Egad, I just had a flashback to the '80s. Always following those :grouch: somewhere!
