In the last poll I did, Vince Lombardi was clearly the winner (and rightly so). Then in the last post, Hut5 said that the real arguement is who is the next best head coach. With that said, let the debate begin!!! Here is the link to the first thread: http://www.pigskin-fever.com/showthread.php?t=85

Another comment, Mike Ditka wasn't too popular last time so I took him off the list. Those who feel he should be on this list are encouraged to make a convincing argument.

Belichick because he won as much as anyone except Lombardi or Halas despite the free agency situation. Halas is a very close #3 though.

Paul Brown got my vote.

Not only for his record, but the innovations he brought to the game, and the coaching tree that he sprung.

Ultimately I had to vote for Don Shula, though Bill Walsh and John Madden are right up there.

You have your motivators like Lombardi and your strategists like Belicheck but Bill Walsh was both a motivator and a strategist and that helped him win 3 superbowls and that is why he is #1 on my list as the greatest coach ever.

Walsh not only won three SB's (four if you count Seifert's first) he was an innovator, a teacher and mentor to many future head coaches, and perhaps the best judge of talent that has ever been connected to the NFL. Nuff sed
