Drew Bledsoe has retired after 14 years in the league, 9 of which were with the Patriots as their starter...over that amount of time he brought them to the playoffs four times with a trip to Super Bowl XXXI...he is the Pats all time passer in attempts, completions, and yardage...
Should they "retire" #11 in honor of Bledsoe?

Kraft should re-sign Bledsoe for one day, then retire as a Patriot and honor him at a home game this season. He should at least be in the Patriots HOF.
Bledsoe was the face of a faceless franchise. He along with Parcells and Kraft helped save this franchise.

It's not required that you retire as a Patriot to go into their Hall of Fame nor have your number "retired"(no number is actually retired, just not normally issued).
That wasn't required for Nick Buoniconti nor Mike Haynes nor Babe Parilli, all of whome retired with other teams(Dolphins, Raiders, and Jets respectively) and all were both enshrined in Foxborough and had their numbers "retired"...

Yea I know it's not required, it would be nice to see him go out as a Patriot even for just one more day.

Too bad I never got to see Bledsoe when he was a great QB, the only good memory of him in game was when he threw the pass to Patten in 2001.
But yes they should, he really did start the 2001 Patriots dynasty. :D

Definitly. He shouldn't be remembered as the guy who lost his job to Tom Brady, but as the mentor to Tom Brady.

The most lasting memory I have of Bledsoe in his Patriot days is my older brother inviting some friends over on a Sunday afternoon, then staying in the living room and watching the game the whole afternoon. When my mom told them to turn it off and go outside, my brother's friend said "But it's Bledsoe!"
One of my favorites, and I certainly hope the Patriots retire his number.
