Former Rams WR Shaun McDonald has signed a two-year contract to play for the Detroit Lions and his former coach, offensive coordinator Mike Martz. McDonald had a down year last season while riding the bench in a new system in St. Louis. The Lions looked hard at McDonald's former teammate, Kevin Curtis, before deciding to go another direction. Curtis fired his agent during a visit to Motown, and said afterward he preferred to play for a west coast team.
Maybe it's just me, but when I hear "Shaun McDonald" I think Bill Schroeder. I don't expect a whole lot from McDonald, but then again I said the same thing about Mike Furrey before last season, and he caught 98 passes.
