I was wondering if any Bucs fans think that Tampa Bay will miss former DL coach Rod Marinelli, who took over as Lions head coach this off-season? I think he also served as an assistant head coach under Jon Gruden, and is said to be a master at his craft (producing hard-working and productive defenses). Marinelli was offered numerous defensive coordinator positions around the league for the past few years. His contract with the Bucs stipulated that he was only allowed to leave if he was taking a head coaching gig, not as a coordinator, so he was pretty much stuck. Lions GM Matt Millen really liked what he saw and heard from Marinelli, and I believe he took a pretty big chance on hiring a new head coach that has not only never been a head coach at any level, but has never held an NFL coordinator position.
