The Falcons have reached an agreement with 35-year old wideout Joe Horn on a four-year deal that is worth $19 million. Horn has been a bit beat up the last couple of years, but is still a capable guy, IMO. I'm sure Mike Vick must be tickled pink. Still, even with this signing, I think the Falcons should swap picks with the Lions and draft Calvin Johnson. Horn would be a great mentor for the kid, and Vick would have two legit threats to add to his offensive arsenal.

The Falcons shouldn't look at Joe Horn as their answer to the wide reciever woes. He'll only be here for 3 years at the most. Trading up is what they need to do to bolster the wideouts even more. This is a good move, but he isn't a long term option like Calvin Johnson could be.

The Falcons have drafted enough WRs. They need to look at their scouting/coaching. Are they drafting guys that can't play or not developing them after they were drafted. It's very telling that they hired our WR coach, Hue Jackson, as OC. Say what you want about the Bengals, but they've done a pretty good job of developing WRs (Chad Johnson - 2nd round, T.J. Houshmandzadeh - 7th round, Chris Henry - 3rd round).

I hope Hue Jackson makes an impact. From the things he's said it seems he's not cutting Mike Vick any slack.
